The town of Pomfret hired it’s first appointed (non-elected) tax collector yesterday.  Pam Guamond is a good choice for the job as she was the Assistant Tax Collector for Pomfret in 2011 and 2012.  Naturally, she is familiar with Town Hall Policies and the Tax Office.  Guamond is not a certified tax collector but is taking coursework to get certified.  She expects to complete the certification process in roughly two years.  She is a resident of Pomfret.
